As is so often the case, close friends the Duchess of Sussex and Bahraini-British fashion designer Misha Nonoo have once again found themselves pregnant around the same time. While the Duchess gave birth to her first son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor in May 2019, Nonoo had her son Leo last March, making them just a few months apart in age. Now, both are expecting baby girls, who will no doubt also become firm friends.
While the Duchess of Sussex is expecting her baby girl this summer, Nonoo is reportedly due around the same time. She shared the happy news on her Instagram account, writing: ‘My journey into motherhood has been one of the most rewarding and beautiful experiences of my life. I’m extremely grateful and excited to share that we’re adding a sweet baby girl to our family, and Leo will soon be a big brother! To celebrate, we’re launching a new collection of maternity styles, inspired by the wardrobe heroes I missed wearing the most during my pregnancy. Effortless pieces designed to be worn before, during, and after pregnancy—this is maternity wear for whatever the future has in store. Whether you’re already a Mum or an expecting Mum-to-be, I hope these pieces bring you the comfort, style, and ease you need to tackle one of life’s most incredible experiences.’
Nonoo is one of the Duchess’s friends from her Hollywood days, and was widely reported at having introduced the Duchess to her future husband. The former Suits star also worked with the fashion designer on her Smart Works collection, and has always championed Nonoo’s creations, famously wearing the ‘Husband’ shirt for her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in 2017.
The Duke and Duchess were among the glamorous A-list guests at Nonoo’s nuptials in Rome in September 2019, with fellow attendees including Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Karlie Kloss, among others.
