Paris Hilton has become engaged to her boyfriend, Carter Reum
The world’s most famous socialite Paris Hilton shared news of her engagement to boyfriend Carter Reum in an Instagram post today, which also happens to be her 40th birthday.
The heiress, reality TV star and DJ shared a video featuring two images of the romantic proposal which happened while she and Reum were holidaying on a private island as part of her birthday celebrations.
The two were on a beach at sunset when he popped the question
In the first image Hilton appears in a long white gown kissing Reum while the next image sees Reum down on one knee, presenting an emerald-cut diamond ring to the jubilant Hilton.
The ring has been confirmed to be by jeweller Jean Dousset, the great-grandson of Louis Cartier.
In the caption, The Simple Life star wrote, ‘When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it. My love & I have been together since our first date, and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise.’
She added, ‘As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee. I said yes, yes to forever. There’s no one I’d rather spend forever with.’
The star ended the post by directing fans to see more images on her website, where she has shared 23 snaps, including the pair embarking on a beach walk during the extravagant proposal.
Some of the pictures reveal that Paris’ sister, Tatler Contributing Editor Nicky Hilton Rothschild and her husband James were also present, along with Paris’ brother, Barron Hilton II and his wife Tessa Gräfin von Walderdorff.
Members of Reum’s family including his mother Sherry Reum and brother Courtney Reum also made an appearance at the proposal.
‘I’m excited for our next chapter,’ she told People.
Reum attended Columbia University before going on to co-found VEEV Spirits with brother Courtney. He also runs M13, an investment company.
Paris has previously been engaged – first to model Jason Shaw in the early 2000s, then movie producer Paris Latsis in 2004 and in 2018 to actor Chris Zylka.
