5 Great Ways to Manage Your Time Better in 2020. If you find yourself falling behind every day, these five great ways to manage your time better are sure to help. Usually, time management is simply a matter of being mindful.

Life gets busy and time has a way of getting away from all of us. The busier your schedule, the more difficult it can be to get everything done. Sometimes this can be a sign that we are over-scheduling our time. But sometimes, it is simply a matter of less-than-optimum time management.

Good time management is not just another way to fit even more stuff into an already over-burdened schedule. Rather, when you manage your time more efficiently, you not only get more done, you will be less stressed out while doing it.

Here are five great ways to manage your time better. Hopefully, they will inspire you to think of even more ways to take charge of your time management in your daily life.

1. Make a Fresh To Do List Each Day

If you aren’t already making a “To Do” List, you should be. But even better, make a fresh one each day.

When you use the same To Do list without starting fresh, the things that you didn’t check off the day before can stand out like an accusation. It is easy to get distracted by feelings of guilt or failure, and neither are helpful.

Instead, make a “To Do Today” list. If there are items from yesterday that you’d like to get done today, add them fresh and new, along with the rest of your goals for the day. List everything in order of priority and check things off as you complete them. If anything important is left at the end of the day, add it to your fresh To Do list the following day.

2. Beware of Multi-Tasking

Even if you consider yourself to be a multi-tasking aficionado, try doing tasks one at a time whenever possible. You may have to juggle various responsibilities throughout the day.

But do your best to focus on them one at a time. The more you can concentrate on one task without interruption, the more you can accomplish in less time. And once a task is completed, you get to mark it off your To Do Today list, a satisfying feeling, indeed!

3. Give Yourself a Break

When you feel like you have a lot of work to do, it may be tempting to work through your break time. But taking a break is very important to your overall well being, as well as your ability to get things done efficiently.

Rather than ignoring breaks, try dividing your To Do Today list into small, but important tasks. When you complete an important task, take a break.

Even if you only take five minutes, giving yourself a moment to stretch your legs, look out the window, get something to drink, or just play a quick game of computer solitaire helps to refresh you for the next important task on your To Do Today list. (And if you know that you tend to get lost in your break time activities, set a timer so you know when to get back to work!)

4. Set Your Priorities and Hold Yourself To Them

Listing the items on your To Do Today list in order of priority is very important. It is also helpful if you put your least favorite work before your favorite work. That way, you have the work you love to look forward to, as a reward for getting the other stuff done.

And don’t allow yourself to start a new project until you finish the one before it. Yes, at times, you may need to, if you are waiting on work from another source you have no control over. But don’t allow yourself to just push the less-fun work to the back burner in favor of things you’d rather do. Get it done. Check it off. Take a short break. And get back to work on the task you really enjoy.

5. Cultivate a Positive Attitude

As long as you list things on your To Do Today list in order of priority and work from the top down, you should find it easier to keep up with your daily schedule. You may find that you often have items on your list that you need to reschedule for another day. Don’t all that to affect you in a negative way.

Actually, your time is best used by keeping your To Do Today list rather full. You never know what you can accomplish if you don’t challenge yourself. And you can’t challenge yourself by making your schedule so easy every day that you accomplish your tasks early. (Although that’s a great thing to do on occasion!)

Ideally, your schedule should include extra tasks that are harder to prioritize. But these tasks would still make your life a lot easier when they are done. When your workday ends, you can enter those tasks into your To Do Today list for the following day, feeling proud that you made any kind of dent in them at all.

Giving yourself credit and allowing yourself to feel good about all that you have accomplished in your day builds you up. It gives you even more incentive to do a good job the following day, so you can feel good again. And with an attitude like that, you can do anything!

Conclusion

Finding ways to manage your time better does not require pushing yourself to do more than you can. It simply requires being mindful, focused, and finding ways to reward yourself along the way. Be your own champion and friend while you work and you’ll find yourself getting more accomplished than you expected!

The loss of a job can cause panic and insecurity, but these tips for financial survival after job loss will assist you in assessing your situation and creating a plan of action. It can be tempting to give in to depression and hopelessness, but it is the worst thing you can do in a financial emergency. This is especially true if you have a family depending on you. These tips can help you handle things like a pro.

It seems like every day, the news informs us about another company downsizing. Suddenly, several thousand more people are out of work. Life can feel incredibly fragile and intimidating when you’re the one being downsized, especially when you have a family counting on you. Many of us are the sole provider in our households. And even in homes where there are two incomes, the loss of one of them can be devastating.

But the loss of a job does not have to be the end of the world. Take a deep breath. Relax. Let’s take a look at some tips for financial survival after a job loss.

6 Most Effective Financial Survival Tips after a Job Loss

1. Evaluate Your Assets

It’s hard to make a plan without a complete understanding of your financial situation. So grab some paper and pen and start listing your assets.

Document the balance in your checking account, savings accounts, Paypal account, your 401K, the $80 you have hidden away in the sock drawer for emergencies, and anyone who owes you money. Write it all down so you can see how much money you have, in hand, right now.

Once you’re done, take an inventory of your stuff. Think about things of value that you could sell or pawn. Think about things that you could list on Ebay or sell in a yard sale. If the amount of your cash in hand is of concern, selling your excess items is an excellent way to declutter while helping your family survive.

2. Get Clear About Your Budget

If you have not already worked out a budget for your household, now is the time. It’s vital that you know exactly what expenses you have and how much it costs you, per month, to pay your bills and live your life.

Write everything down – your rent or house payment, utilities, phone, car payment, car insurance, any other insurance, credit cards, and everything else you pay every month. Look at what you spend, on average, for groceries every month, and gas for the car. And yes, the beer you drink on weekends counts, too. Write it all down.

Once you know all the money you have on hand, and all the expenses you have to pay every month, you have a solid overview of the situation. If you find that you have enough money to survive a longer time than you believe it will realistically take for you to find a new job, seeing that in black and white can provide a lot of comforts.

On the other hand, if your funds are seriously lacking and replacing your job might take longer than you can afford, the sooner you know, the faster you can get a handle on the situation.

3. Formulate a Survival Plan

Now that you have your budget all laid out in front of you where you can get a good look at it, you are in a position of power. It may not feel like it, but I assure you that it is true. Once you have a solid handle on the money you spend, you are in the perfect position to think strategically and come up with a plan.

Grab that handy pen and paper again. Now it’s time to look at your expenses, one by one, and categorize them in terms of priority. This is not always as easy as it might sound, and you are the only one who can truly determine what expenses need to take priority in your life. But an example breakdown might look something like this:

You may wonder why I listed things the way I did. Why, for example, would I put “Rent” and “Car Insurance” in the Mandatory list and put “Car Payment” and “House Payment” on the flexible side?

This is where you have to really think about the payments you are making. Rent is in the Mandatory side because landlords are often very unwilling to work with you for long when you are late with the rent.

On the other hand, loan companies are often a lot more likely to work with you if you get behind on a house payment and most of the time, you can get by a full three months before they foreclose.

They really don’t want your house back. They lose money when they have to repo a house and resell it. It is in their best interest to work with you. So, depending on your current situation, you may have a lot of flexibility with some of your bills.

Store credit cards and furniture purchases you have charged can usually be safely put on the “Last Priority” list. Yes, missing payments will effect your credit, but when you are looking for practical ways to feed your children as long as possible, you can let the credit history stuff slide a little.

It is nearly the same as the big-name credit cards. It is certainly true if you have one that is already maxed out. Put that on the “Last Priority” list for now. If they have to live for a few months without your money, they will be just fine.

However, if you have a credit card with a large enough balance available that it could make a difference in your survival, pay that bill. Protect that asset, just in case.

Once you have all your items listed by priority, you have the beginning of a plan. You know what bills you must pay and you know the ones you can safely set aside for later.

4. Think Creatively to Reduce Spending

Save gas by doing as much job hunting online as possible. If you have to cut off the Internet, get online at your local library and combine the trip with other chores as often as possible. Simplify your grocery bill to basic staples and items you find on sale. Avoid convenience foods and snacks as much as possible.

5. Bring in Money Where You Can

If you need more money than you have, look for opportunities to earn. Collectible items and collections of books and other items often sell well on Ebay. Clear out some of your gently used clothing items, books, movies, jewelry, and other treasures you are able to part with while earning some money.

Don’t Miss: 31 One-Person Small Business Ideas currently Making $9,000+ Monthly in the USA and in other Parts of the World

6. Be Gentle on Yourself and Have Faith

It’s inportant you have faith. Every ending is a new beginning. That sounds like a trite “feel good” statement, but it really is true. Regardless of that, losing a job hurts – even if you weren’t wild about the job, to begin with. Rejection hurts.

Do what you can to nurture yourself. Take practical steps to give yourself as much time as possible to find new employment. Take positive steps every day, and one moment at a time, you can find your way.

I was watching TV last night and there was an interview with an artist who proclaimed animatedly that he “couldn’t believe he got paid for doing something he loved” and even more pertinently “i would gladly do this for free….”

This got me thinking that whilst it may be true that many people discover their true passion and pursue it as a hobby (and this could be anything – think golf, cars, star trek fans….) very few will get paid for their actual passion.

So if you’re lucky, you may have already found your passion and may well be all set to take part as soon as you have read this post, but if you haven’t, and are at all restless in any part of your life, then it is well worth reading on..

And to take it one step further if you are thinking about setting up a business of your own, considering a career change or just looking for a new hobby to occupy your spare time, at least spare a few minutes to think about what your passion could be and how you might find your passion.

Presenting .. 10 Steps to Find Your Passion..

So here are my own “how to find your passion” prompts based on my own life experience … your list might well be different.

1. Is there something you have always wanted to do?

It could be anything from travel to a hobby, an “experience” or an object you have always wanted to own. Make a plan to achieve this. Or look at things from the point of view of how you would spend tomorrow if you could do anything you wanted to do and money was no object.

What would you do?

How would you spend your precious one day?

Who would you spend it with?

Where would you go?

2. Where do you really want to live?

Imagine you had the choice of anywhere in the world. Where would you choose?

Is there a city you would like to live in? Or a country?

Would you live urban or rural?

Close to family or as far away as possible?

Perhaps you already live exactly where you really want to live, in which case fantastic and move on… but at least give this some thought

3. What do you talk about doing but have never done?

If you have often made the statement …” I would love to …..”

For instance my own top 5 things I am always banging on about but have never done are

Getting a season ticket for my favourite football team

Following the English cricket team on a tour of Australia

Going on a cruise around the Nordic fjords

Volunteer my time to help others

Earn some extra money outside of my normal day job to make things easier

Why have you never done these? Too busy and not enough money is usually the answer. So start to make a plan and think about how you might actually achieve these dreams

In my case, and looking at the fifth item on the list one of the original things I wanted to do was start a website up so I have combined number 5 with getting online and you are reading the result right now .

In addition to this ask yourself the question “what radical change would I like to make to my life right now?” – and it could be quitting your job, or getting more education or going traveling. Not saying follow it through, but ask yourself the question – this will help crystallize your thoughts and help you to find your passion along the way

4. What are the reasons you don’t go after your dreams?

This is quite a biggy if you think about it.

Everybody has dreams of some sort. They may be big or small but even the laziest of people who sit in front of the TV night after night have a dream to not miss the next episode of their favourite TV program

So what inside you is holding you back from achieving your dreams?

Is it money

Or time?

Or are you scared of failure

.. or scared of success?

Do you procrastinate over decisions?

….. Or are you simply just not brave enough

Do you get nervous around people …?

You get the picture … ignore money and lack of time for a minute (appreciate that’s difficult) and take a piece of paper and explore within yourself why you haven’t pursued the life you want.

Could you (yes, you) do something differently to help bring your dreams to life?

5. What do you want to do before you die?

How will I finish the sentence,

“More than anything, before I die, I want to ___________?”

Say it out loud and fill in the blank, rinse and repeat.

This is a really potent technique – a “bucket list” if you will and can include things you want to do

Take the top 2 or 3 and go and figure out a way to accomplish your wish.

6. What are the things in your life that you would like to get rid of?

Gosh, we are going deep today….

There are parts of your life (and everybody’s life) where you will be doing things which if you sat down and thought about it, you may not need to do (or want to do)

This could be as big as reviewing your current job or career, but my advice would be to start small and work up – and challenge what you do and the way you do things and why.

It may be that you do things in a certain way because that’s the way you have always done them. Or it is the way you were brought up to do them.

Do you really need to clean your shoes every single day?

Do you really need to iron your bedsheets every week?

Do you need to clean the car every week or could you do it every second week?

Why do you feel you need to keep your house spotless? Is it your belief or something which your parents have instilled into you

Go write a list and challenge what you currently do and cut out things that are unnecessary

This activity may not lead you directly to your life passion but should get you thinking in the right way, and should also free up time for you to go and do the things you actually want to do rather than the things you think you should do

7. Who are the people in your life that inspire you?

Who inspires you?

It could be somebody at home, at work, a celebrity or a politician

It doesn’t matter – write a list of who you find inspiring and why.

What is it about them that inspires you?

Is it what they do, what they say, how they act, what they represent.

Take out (another) piece of paper (think you need a notepad by now) and try and answer the above questions and then ask yourself whether you aspire to be like them, or at the very least what aspects of their lives could you aspire to match?

This can be very powerful because it will get you thinking about what you need to become and how you need to act in order to achieve your own life passion

8. How does it feel when you achieve a goal?

If you were to start small and achieve just one of your goals how would it feel?

Notice these feelings and enjoy them – if you are anything like me you will almost certainly want to experience them again and again

Now think about how it would feel to achieve a life goal. Something really big such as reaching your ideal weight or traveling the world.

How would that feel? Incredible? Awesome?

Stay with those feelings so they remain with you and drive you

9 What’s missing from your life? How Do I Find My Passion?

This could be the most difficult of the questions to address because it may force you to confront where you are in your life today and what you have achieved.

It is, however, a necessary and really important step because without knowing what is missing you are unlikely to know what you need.

SO on another piece of paper just write down what is missing. Big stuff and small stuff.

Here’s a starter list

A partner

Kids

Knowledge or education

Money

Organization

Time for yourself

You get the picture .. it may require a bit of soul searching but when you have done your list, just reverse the question and ask yourself

“how do I get what is missing” ….

The answers may well surprise you…

10. Who are the (important) people in your life?

A really important question then to look at is the role of the people in your life and whether they are supporters and provide nourishment and positivity or whether they are energy sappers

It’s wise to know the people that will stand behind you and help you pursue your passions, no matter what. This could be family, friends, your boss, your colleagues.

Likewise, who gets in the way of me achieving my goals? Who are the negative people who could drag you down. Get rid of them, ditch them, or at least reduce your time with them.

Spending your time with positive, supportive people will help you achieve your goals and reducing your time with the negative ones will stop the draining of energy. Simple as that.

Find Your Passion – To Sum Up…..

There you have it. Finding your life passion in 10 steps(!)

If you take the time to thoroughly consider each of these points I hope you will be excited and motivated by what you come across. Now just go out, find your passion, and make it happen!

You get into your room, clothes everywhere, make-up stains, shoes not on the racks, you even forgot to take out your mini trash bin, and its full urrhh. You’re almost depressed but you have got to clean up, you decide to eat because you feel it’s going to take forever to tidy up and you need all the energy, getting into the kitchen, it’s like a real enemy came over to do some nasty magic, cuz, how did your kitchen achieve so much mess? What with dirty plates all over the island, trash bin full of trash and the trash Is even falling off, haaa…now you know depression! Okay you take your food to the dining area and you see your table is full of stuff not meant to be on a dining table, huh! Well, food is for consumption, and consume you must. After relaxing for some moments after eating, you go to the toilet to pee, you instantly reject your toilet, you just can’t be the owner of the dirty walls and brown toilet and bathroom, now you are weak from the traumatic stress of so much mess. You need to get a grip, so you go to the sitting room to get a hold of yourself; you see the further mess all around, dust all over the Television, discs all over the shelf top, and couch pillows everywhere. At this moment you couldn’t even be bothered, you give up cuz only a cleaning machine can fix all the mess. And this has been the attitude all the time because instead of cleaning up you just move things around and you’re not a dirty person just that you have so much work to do and not much time to spare and even when you do have the time, you just want to rest. You are not alone in this and almost no one enjoys cleaning up any type of mess.

Well, you need not see cleaning up the mess all around as mission impossible. This article has been specially put together just for you because it will give you tips on how to get motivated to clean when overwhelmed by the mess.

Tips On How To Get Motivated To Clean When Overwhelmed By Mess

1. Read A Book That Motivates You To Clean Up Mess

You need the motivation to clean up dirt or clutters that bring about messiness. Getting and reading good books on clean-up just before you start cleaning can be the right motivation you need. Examples of such books are

The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying Up By Marie Kondo

Martha Stewart’s Organizing

(The Manual For Bringing Order To Your Life, Home and Routines) By Martha Stewart

2. Invite a Friend Over (A Critic)

Inviting a friend over should motivate you to clean up, especially one who likes to give opinions on things without being sorry. Knowing there is someone who frowns at messiness coming over should galvanize you into action!

3. Watch A Video On Cleaning

A visual might also help you to clean up earlier. Watching someone clean methodically would help you to know how to clean better, from where to start, how to organize things, and time management. You can check out these YouTube videos

4. Play Your Favorite Songs

Music makes things feel less stressful. A fitting song, especially a sing along kind of song would keep you happy while doing some good cleaning. Imagine you stepping in tune with a jam and cleaning up the mess. You won’t even know when you are done cleaning up.

5. Get Family Or Friends To Help Out With Cleaning

Knowing you are not alone in cleaning up and there are people ready to help out with the mess would certainly motivate you. Imagine you chatting with friends or family, making jokes and laughing, and cleaning up. You guys would be done before you know it!

6. Tell yourself “I Am Cleaning Up This Mess Today! Nothing Can Stop Me!”

Mindset matters a lot. Setting your brain into Cleaning mode helps to motivate your spirit and body into cleaning. In fact, any time you just want to sit too long, talk for too long, eat slower or get preoccupied with certain irrelevant activities, keep the ‘cleaning today!’ mantra alive in your mind. Because you have just got to do the needful.

7. Time Yourself

Setting a timer to clean up areas that are messy in portions should motivate you to clean up faster. Knowing that after each messy section, you have fewer sections to clean up gets you wanting to clean up an area faster to finish up the whole area.

8. Get Everyone Around To Help Clean Up

From toddlers to adults, everyone should be given cleaning responsibilities according to their age and strength. Kids could be given the job of picking up litter around and passing cleaning instruments to the older ones. Adults should do the major cleaning.

9. Promise Yourself A Treat

Knowing that after doing the almighty cleaning you are going to enjoy yourself gives you a sense of reward. You can fix visiting a spa, going to the movies, getting some nice food, or even chilling in bed all day and reading some nice novels.

10. Avoid Distractions

You want to clean up the mess around, you put on your tv and tune it to your favorite station or you bring in a neighbor, friend, or family member who is too chatty and talks far longer than they help you clean up. What are you trying to achieve? No Cleaning! Don’t let this happen to you.

11. Tell Yourself You Deserve Some Fresh Air And Space

Remember how you used to enjoy the clean, fresh air and reasonable space before the mess? Yes! You need to experience it again. You deserve good things! This should be a strong motivation for you to clean the mess.

1. Series 901

This episode features Dr. Rhonda Patrick. She is a specialist in brain health. The focus is on depression. It was a holistic discussion about the causes of depression, effects, and some natural remedies. Some of the revelations will piss off most pharmacists as it demystifies simple ways to prevent and handle depression without depending on drugs.

2. Series 967

It was a period of educative rib-cracking humor when Joe Roger hosted Bill Bur. Gender inequality and gender placement in politics took the center stage in this episode. Without mincing words, Bill, in his funny manner presented an unbiased judgment to the issue.

3. Series 872

When Joe Rogan hosted the duo of Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson little did he know he was about to confirm the reality of the sophistication of the ancient civilization? The two historians and archeologists in this podcast were able to establish their theory over the years about the incredible wisdom of the ancients. According to them, this account for the inability of the scientists and engineers to establish the wisdom behind the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx.

4. Series 938

You wonder if scientists now believe there is a being behind the creation of the world. The interaction between Rogan and Lawrence Krauss (a physicist) exposes you more to the scientific answer to how the world could have been created from nothing.

5. Series 919

Neil Tyson is one of the regular guests on the JRE show. This time, his discussion is on the possibility of everyone having a scientific mindset. He disabuses the mind of conservative religious people on how to have empirical thinking on life and creation without losing their religious value.

6. Series 1276

This episode is one of the most controversial, in-depth but informative and educative episodes of JRE

I think this is one podcast of Joe Rogas that should change the thinking pattern of most religious fanatics. Despite the sharp disagreement between the host and his guest on several issues, Ben Shapiro presented his opinion in a logical way that left all listeners with conviction they had value for their time listening to the discussion. Though Shapiro was a conservative Jew, yet he respected other people’s opinions on issues contrary to his own. Though he does not support gay or lesbian marriage, still he was not critical of their right. I think the world will be better if we think this way.

7. Series 405

I picked this one among best Joe Rogan podcasts of all time primarily because of Aubrey Marcus. Though both Aubrey Marcus & Steven Pressfield featured in this show with Joe, I was fascinated with the openness of Marcus on his erstwhile personal secret lifestyle. The earlier we show our real self the more confidence people will have in us. More importantly, the young ones can learn the truth about their mentor to chart a better future for their life. This is surely one podcast that will remain evergreen at least for the young ones.

8. Series 28

George Saint Pierre was the world’s mixed martial arts champion for several years. He was the Canadian athlete of the year for three years in a row. This incredible fighter had an unbeaten record that cannot be rivaled by any of his contemporaries in MMA. In this podcast, he bore his mind on several issues, especially what made him tough and thick. He also gave several hints on how to develop your physical and mental capacity.

9. Series 1080

I am just exercising my right of freedom to include this episode among the best of Joe Rogan podcasts. Your background should not determine your place in destiny. David Goggins had a terrible childhood experience. But now, they are history and good fortune. Learn how to turn adversity to advancement from this man

10. Series 962

11. Series 1035

Out of 25 best Joe Rogan podcasts of all time, this one concerns you as well. If all you know about fungi is the negative side, listen to Paul Stamets as he gives you the other benefit of fungi to man. This he related to human memory and retention.
