People are accustomed to the norms of everyday life, but on some rare occasions, the extraordinarily and the unusual happens. When this occurs, one can’t help but get lost in awe. However, some people endeavor to capture the odd things. Here are is a list of some odd things that were found in everyday situations.
Body Wash or Honey?
Take a long and close look at the container. Sincerely, what comes to mind? No doubt the packaging, including the honey design on it gives the impression of something edible.
It takes just a moment of a lapse to realize that this is not something to add to tea. It’s a body wash! It’s not honey, but of course, it contains honey mixed into a soapy content. The designers of this container went overboard trying to make the body wash so attractive that it’s so hard to differentiate it from an actual honey bottle.
A Manhole in the Middle of a Mall
Was the mall built after the manhole or vice-versa? From the look of it, it seems the hole was built long before the Mall. Regardless, the ideal thing would be for the mall to have fixed or built something to conceal the hole.
The hole literally ruins the beauty of the tile floor. Is it possible the sewer would need to be accessed someday? The mall is due to remain closed on such a day because who would shop in the mall with an open sewer? This is just weird.
A Curved Window
Could this be the inspiration behind the common curved edge screen devices in the market now? Well maybe not, because the window is more protruding than being curved at the edges the way popular devices are built.
Why does it feel like it’ll jiggle if it’s poked? That’s not the ideal way a window should look. A more pressing question is, why would anyone think of having this design of window? It gives the impression of something more than a window when it’s not.
Snow + Rain, a Wonder!
To experience something this rare, the snow has to fall followed by rain. The rain gradually dissolves the ice until it gets to a stage that the ice forms small circles in the water.
Then the beauty comes out as seen in the magnificent and breathtaking picture below. Note, however, as beautiful as it is, it could be slippery, and walking around it may be injurious. Added to that, this may not always happen, so enjoy the soothing and enchanting view.
A Twisted Spaghetti Pack
A pre-curled spaghetti? Does it mean it will cook faster? This is one of the unusual things that’s worth capturing. The apparent straight shape of spaghetti is what the other strands have except for the black sheep — the curled one.
If it cooks faster than the others, it is certainly not going to make a difference or affect the taste of the rest. It’s just a strand among hundreds. Its rebellious curve won’t be noticeable once the meal is ready; everything becomes soft and curly.
A Mouse with a Calculator
So, this is one weird invention from canon. It’s a mouse fitted with a calculator. It’s weird and quite confusing. The computer to which the mouse is connected surely has a calculator installed.
Why have another mouse pad again? Is it supposed to make the buyer feel the mouse is offering extra value for money? It’s simply a needless design unless the user works in an environment that requires doing a frequent calculation. Some things just don’t make sense, but one has it leave with it anyway– it’s the manufacturer’s choice — buy it or not.
The Alien Fruit
Surprise, surprise! Here’s an awkwardly shaped fruit or maybe not. The reddish object in the image may pass as an alien object.
The shape is irregular and far from anything common as a fruit. Apples, oranges, grapes, and any other small-sized fruits do not appear any similar to this fruit. For those who love to try new things, then they could take a chance and sample its taste. But as for the cautious set of people, they would probably just pass.
The Pile of Tumbleweeds
The story of the Russian thistle is a familiar one. Popularly known as tumbleweed, it’s now a common thing in most of the United States. For many who have seen western films, it’s no strange phenomenon.
When the tumbleweed piles, it’s usually bothersome as the accumulation can reach a height that prevents movement. It brings to mind an incident where a pile of tumbleweed becomes too high that vehicles had to wait for its removal. The owner of this property no doubt needed help to have these removed and blamed the wind for the trouble.
A Tulip Fused Into a Leaf
A Tulip petal grows free of the leaves. It grows separately and distinctly. Its sharp, interesting color differentiates it from the dull green leaves.
The wonder in the picture below is a mix of petal and leaf, each taking a side to produce something usual and not the common everyday sight. This needs a name, perhaps pet-leaf will do justice to that effect. A closer look at it reveals a beautiful side that captivates, however, the awkwardness remains.
2 in 1; a Hardhat and Cowboy Hat
A true definition of fashion and function. A good combination that serves multiple purposes. This is for handymen who love the cowboy hat and prefer it to the conventional types that are commonly designed as in imitation of face caps.
It’s an uncommon design that hides its true purpose. And unlike regular cowboy hats, this type of hat is made of tough plastic. It also comes with a buckle to fasten it, and unless turned upside down, the buckle remains hidden to make it look fashionable and looking less of a work type.
A Radiator a Nest
This heater radiator is no doubt a design made for bird nests because there is no way on earth that little thing will fill up the entire house with enough heat. Fixing this is surprising, and clearly not a common thing because the vast majority of structures have a bigger radiator to serve the entire home.
The heater can get the home hot to a crispy 25°C making some users open the windows in the dead of winter. It could be the heater works for just a room, only then can it function effectively.
A Duck Lamp
If given some moments to guess what a duck lamp would look like, many ideas may come to mind but not what the image shows. It may have been a giant yellow duck illuminated from within. The type in consideration is an average size box with pieces of little duck toys running into hundreds.
In the middle is a bright lamp reflecting a warm yellow color. A beautiful and innovative design for the bedroom or living room. It’s an unusual thing to spot since many homes use a plain bed lamp. A unique and innovative idea– a beautiful mind!
Plant on the Counter
Houseplants are fun to keep and nurture! The majority of homeowners who use houseplants have not only added to the quality of air in the room but have also improved the home aesthetically.
Far from the regular plant in the home is the little sprout growing out of the broken counter. The troubling question is how the plant managed to develop at such a location with little nutrients and soil. Houseplants are wonderful but certainly nothing like this.
A 3D Light Switch
A light switch? To turn on lights? Is this not too big? With just a tap, a switch goes on or off, so why create something big that will require the full hand to switch.
Whoever had this installed may want to feel in control, like a master giving life to a big robot. If it were a switch for the whole building, it’s worth it. But considering it’s just for a bulb, then it’s just weird.
A Table Seat
Why is the chair appearing so off and weird? The seat shares quite a number of similarities with a car seat and appears so confusing. Lots of questions need an answer here.
Did someone go to a store to purchase it? Or perhaps the owner had a used car and decided to remove the seat (nothing wastes, since it looks neat). But considering how uncomfortable the seat is, why would anyone keep it in a room? So unusual.
A Truck on a Truck
So, this road user spots a truck in traffic, and right at the back of the vehicle is the image of the truck. The question is, how were the manufacturers able to get an image of the truck while it’s under construction?
The bigger question is, what exactly is the image of the truck supposed to achieve? Since the truck is painted exactly as what the image depicts. By and large, it’s not a bad concept, but it does feel useless.
A Collection of 100 Copies of Shrek in VHS
A collection of vintage objects usually pays off when a value is placed on them. Quite a number of paintings and masterpieces enjoy some popularity that makes them highly sought after and consequently valuable.
But for someone keeping tapes of Shrek VHS tapes? Over the years, attention may never be paid to VHS since it’s common among many users. And the internet has made each film of Shrek available. So happy waiting, and happy collecting.
King of Flakes
The king of weirdness in the kingdom of the flakes. About five pieces of flakes must have refused to be broken into the common small bits. As shown in the image, this large piece of flake is so big it gets noticed easily before it gets stuck in the throat.
If there are five more of them this size of flake, then whoever purchased the pack may need to start a breaking factory—an unusual and odd occurrence.
The Picture-Perfect Pet
Justin must have seen this picture before singing “picture-perfect you don’t need no filter.” The cat blends well with the background of the image.
The wall coincidentally has a color that matches that of the cat as well as some marking on the floor. To complement the sharp color, the green leaves in their abundance did a perfect job. It’s a unique image, and that one doesn’t get to see every day. Kudos to the individual who captured such a rare and beautiful picture.
Photocopied Fidget Spinner
Anxiety and fidget spinners go hand in glove. Checking the numerous stores that sell fidget spinners, one is sure to spot different designs of fidget spinners.
Ever imagined the outcome of a photocopied fidget spinners? Look at the image to see the result. In all honesty, the photocopied version looks less like the original rather than looks more like an alien technology! Quite odd!
A Donated Lay’s Chips
The size of this bag of Lay’s chips is uncommon and extra-large. The trademark yellow branding is missing, but the caption gives the excuse for that.
From the inscription, this large bag of Lay’s chips was donated. It’s in a white and black monochrome painted bag. Despite knowing it’s not for sale, there is still something incredibly worrisome about the bag. So far from the usual.
Packaging Items with a Bone Bubble Wrap
So, bubble wraps can get better? Feels like nothing is impossible. The common use of bubble wrap is to ship fragile packages that may get destroyed accidentally while in transit.
It is therefore not expected that a bubble wrap should come in a special shape or design. However, this company has taken time to shape these rows of bubble wrap in a bone shape. The result? Bonny-bubble-wrap is an ideal name.
A Metal Tool in a Tasty Yogurt
A man found a metal piece in a cup of tasty yogurt. Although the chance is slim, he may have swallowed the metal thinking it’s a block of ice, and hoping it dissolves around the throat. Imagine the surprise of seeing the huge metal tool.
How did an object this big drop into the yogurt without being noticed? On the plus side, the man can be compensated with an all-time free cup of yogurt for this costly mistake. Simple strange and the last thing expected to be seen in yogurt.
The Shrimp Butter
To preserve butter, it’s best to keep it frozen. The challenge is using it in that frozen state. Most times, as seen in the picture, a knife is best used to scoop the needed amount.
As the individual holding a knife with butter in the image, sometimes due to the hard state of the butter, the knife gives the scoop a funny shape. In this case, it’s a shrimp shape. Definitely not intentional but a result of chance. It’s something unusual, and that makes it worth sharing. Why not try a scoop and see what nice and unique design comes out?
Two Lego Built into the Sidewalk
The strangeness of the image starts with whoever discovered these Lego people. And a question that comes to mind is –how did they get there? On purpose or by mistake?
That’s a question the construction team would have answered if they were around but too bad, they are not. About the picture, the guy on the right might have helped in the construction of the sidewalk. As for the blue one on the right, his role is a mystery but, in the end, they are just plastics, so, nothing to be sad about.
Couples on Customs
Oh, my my, take a look again. The costume of these couples is simply weird. They are on stilts and walking around the street unbothered. It’s a lovely costume and obviously what they are enjoying wearing occasionally.
Whoever spotted them or gets to see them, a little smile is sure to result. This is a gentle reminder to enjoy hobbies without the fear of being ridiculed. Who knows, like in this case, the act could put a smile on someone’s face. An unusual act like this is worth mentioning.
Why does this look familiar? Casting the mind back to the first image considered, the example of the gigantic grapefruit is comparable to this example. Why on earth are strawberries in this form? Strawberries are commonly small and have a unique shape, all of which is missing in this mutant type.
The type under consideration is bigger than normal and has an unusually large surface area—an odd pattern similar to a palm with fingers– quite strange and rare. Hoping whoever partakes in these berries doesn’t grow abnormally too.
A Keyboard with Just a Key
What exactly is the object here? A keyboard with just a key? Or a switch? It had better be the latter because a keyboard with just a key is pretty useless. Is it supposed to type just one letter?
A special messaging style of just a letter for communicating sounds impossible. Taking a closer look at the object, it’s something a lot different from a keyboard and more of a switch, perhaps an improvised tool. Whatever it is, the object is uncommon and strange.
A Wooden Old Tape Measure
A tape measures? Innovation should be appreciated. Whoever brought the idea of the recent tape measures used by handymen deserves proper appreciation. What an improvement to the wooden type used many years ago.
It’s just a nylon tape measure coiled into a wooden apparatus. A survey to see how many people in the modern age has seen this type of tape measure is a no brainer. Many have not and may never come across it in their lifetime.
A Cube of Staples
Did someone sit to couple this box of staples? One can only imagine the time and concentration that went into creating this type of box.
To appreciate the beauty of the project, try to remember the small size of a staple pin. Now, look at the image closely and appreciate the effort that must have gone into making a box of that size. It requires careful coupling with techniques to make the staples stick firmly and beautifully.
In the vast array of unusual things, this stands out as the most lovely. Flowers are beautiful, but not all areas breathtaking and magical as the one in the picture below.
It brought to mind the beautiful expanse of the galaxy in its full beauty. A note that reads ”Bringing a little bit of the sky to the ground, just for you!” is fitting if a bunch of this beautiful flower is given to a special person. An odd but delightful present from nature.
Making the Eggs Stand
“I can make eggs stand up” is the caption a user gave the image showcasing this terrifying and unnatural talent of making eggs stand.
Wait, that sounded ordinary but take a moment to think about eggs, or perhaps get one and try to make stand vertically. Impossible right? Now the trick sounds weighty and unsettling. It’s not a common feat, utterly uncommon, usual, weird, just name it. The eggs are standing like they are placed in a crate. How it was done remains a mystery!
A Calendar for 40 Years
A calendar for forty years fitted in just a key chain! In recent years, with all the wonders of technology, a calendar for the next forty years cannot fit into something as small as a key chain.
A major advantage and reason why the calendar for such a period could fit into something so small was due to the simplicity of counting days then. In modern times, the number of days changes made it impossible to use the same calendar twice, nevermind 40 years.
Shiny Large Tomatoes
From the picture below, try to guess what’s wrong with the tomatoes. They are not unusually big. As the caption reads, the tomatoes are extra shiny, almost as if they were extra polished or rubbed with oil.
Whatever was used is certainly too much to make one second guess the quality and naturalness of the tomatoes. Of course, one mustn’t forget the light in the mall must have added to the glitters. Regardless, the tomatoes look too smooth — quite odd.
Massive Hedges Around the Huge Fence
Try to spot the individual sitting next to these massive hedges. It would take about 15 individuals standing on each other to get to the same height as the hedges.
As beautiful as the plant is, the question is how was it groomed to such a height. And with the neatness and curve it has, someone is trimming it regularly. Quite a strange way to design a home and all feels odder with the height of that fence compared to the short type of most structures.
A Permanent Rug
Purchasing a rug would save the owners of the veranda the stress of creating this tedious work of art. But for lovers of art and creativity, this is a masterpiece and gem.
If not viewed at close range or touched, it may be difficult to differentiate it from a rug. It’s a tedious but creative way to style the floor. Enjoy the unique view it offers– simply beautiful.
A Shovel, Fan, or Rake?
This may be the most surprising and confusing thing. Is it a shovel? It looks too weak to be one. Is it a fan?
Who fixes such a handle to a hand fan, and to blow what exactly? Not a fan for sure. Is it a rake? It surely won’t function as one. In the end, it’s just something unusual and odd.
A Tiny Can of Whiskey
Cans, cans, and cans! Everything is canned these days. Perhaps some things are not meant for the can, just like this tiny canned whiskey. Every day, manufacturers stray away from the familiar trend in a bid to be unique. And sometimes the ideas are not always welcomed more than they are practical.
In this case, the content of the whiskey is too little just like the can is too small to fit in the palms perfectly. On the flip side, it could be a perfect can for someone with little craving and tolerance for whiskey.
So, this zoo hangs a notice near a glass wall. It reads “yes the glass is cracked but it still strong enough to withstand the strength of our bears. Two inches thick and several pounds, this glass is made of several layers and designed to splinter and not shatter.”
Haha! Is this supposed to be reassuring and calming? What a joke! Who writes this type of frightening notice acknowledging the cracked glass will hold big bears? There is no way the reader will be calm and confident, especially after admitting the glass needs replacement.
A Gigantic Bottle of Wine
For the love of wine, here is a bottle to satisfy cravings. A bottle of wine this size is not a common thing. If not seen, it would take a lot of convincing to make someone believe that a bottle this big exists.
Merely catching a glimpse of the wooden container from afar, no one will believe it holds just a bottle. On some special moments when the urge to drink excessively is high, reach for this massive bottle of wine and gulp to stupor.
“Can” You Even Believe It?
Make no mistake about it – even machines and factories make mistakes sometimes! See what we did there? Not important. Anyway, feast your eyes on this seemingly inconspicuous can of beans. It shouldn’t really be anything worth writing home about.
But if you pay close attention to the top of the can, you will soon realize why this photo is on this list. Why on Earth does this can have two lids? Your guess is as good as ours.
Past & Future in One Photo
If you have ever seen time-travel movies such as Back to the Future or Looper, you will be familiar with the idea of someone ending up in another time period only to find a younger or older version of themselves.
If we didn’t know any better, we would assume that this was just a shot out of a similar kind of movie. Not only do these two guys seem to be wearing the same red T-shirt and camouflage shorts, but they even have the same skin color!
Popcorn for the Birdies
It turns out that when one puts this specific kind of birdseed into the microwave, keep it in there for long enough and the end result will resemble popcorn. Of course, because birdseed is smaller than popcorn, it produces a smaller kernel.
When you think about it, this is pretty fitting for birds, as they are much smaller than us. But we wouldn’t recommend feeding birdseed popcorn to the birds in your backyard anytime soon.
Joined at Birth
Look, it’s not just human beings that have the potential to be born joined at the hip with a twin. This can also apply to various other creatures in both the animal kingdom and the plant realm. Feast your eyes on the following two leaves.
As you can see, they ended up growing together and refuse to be separated. Of course, one could just tear them in two. But who would want to do that when you can take a photo of them and post the image on social media?
We’d Settle for This Kettle
Listen, we like having a hot cup of tea or joe just as much as the next person. But never in our lives did we imagine boiling a kettle full of water to be anything more than one of the most mundane experiences in human existence.
Then this kettle came along. Apparently, while you wait for the water to boil, you can actually play a tiny video game on the screen at the kettle’s base.
Riding Heaven’s Wave
There is no denying that clouds can be very pleasant to look at every once in a while. Sure, a sky covered in grey clouds isn’t so nice. But a blue sky with a few clouds dotted around is another story completely.
Some of the shapes that clouds take can really capture our imaginations and the following person hit the jackpot with a particular set of clouds. It certainly looks like a series of waves.
Don’t Be Such a Square
Usually speaking, a traditional deck of cards consists of 52 cards and can be broken down into four suits – spades, hearts, clubs, and diamonds. Most people who play any kind of card game are aware of this. But that doesn’t mean that some people can’t get creative from time to time.
Take this person, for example, who ended up acquiring a very unique set of cards. For a start, the cards are shaped like squares. Also, there is an extra suit – stars!
Sink Your Teeth Into This One
Upon first glance, we assumed that a horse may have galloped too hard along with some cement, causing the following print in the sidewalk with their “shoe.” However, as soon as we read the caption in the image, we understood what had happened.
One would be forgiven though if they assume that someone had decided to sink their teeth into the cement. Obviously, though, that would be one of the most stupid things ever done.
Nature Got a Facelift
Truth be told, if we were taking a hike in a desert and stumbled across this peculiar-looking tree stump, we would certainly be stumped! But do a little bit of research when you get back home and you will soon realize that this is actually quite a common phenomenon.
Petrified wood is basically when mineralization transforms vegetated wood into stone. This can lead to some pretty beautiful patterns on the surface of the wood – like what can be seen in this one.
It is unquestionable that a cone of ice cream is one of life’s truest pleasures. But imagine if you purchased a wrapped cone from a store to find that there wasn’t one, but two cones inside! That is exactly what happened when this person needed a cone fix in their life.
However, it’s not as great as one would assume. After all, it is just a wrapped ice cream cone inside a hollow cone. Think about it – it’s not that big of a deal.
The Unusual Grape
Something unusual is scary, especially when it’s something edible. The beauty of grapes is the tiny round bulbs that form the bunch.
Take a look at the picture, is that a grape? Surprising as it may seem, it is a grape — an unusually big type. For someone who likes things normal, this is certainly outrageous and scary. In fact, it needs a special name, and “the MUTANT grape” is a perfect fit. One can only wonder how it will look if it were to be in a bunch – a gigantic bunch!
The Artistic Worms
When evil is done in a beautiful, captivating fashion would it still count as evil? The example of the worms in the image below is the exact definition of beautiful evil.
These worms are feeding on this leaf, leaving the veins behind. It looks almost like a drawing– a lovely work of art. But as lovely as it may seem, these worms are destroying the plant slowly. Well, they are doing it beautifully so perhaps their sins are forgiven.
A Cloveless Garlic Bulb
Unpeeling garlic to see a complete bulb can leave one in utter awe. Garlic is divided naturally into cloves making it easy to split into small pieces.
One of the main differences between an onion and garlic aside from the smell and taste is the physical appearance. The onion is bulb-shaped while garlic is split into gloves. So, for someone with a poor sense of smell, it would take a lot of convincing to tell the person otherwise. bulb shapes are not the norm. So, on spotting the type in the picture, this is an unusual and rare sight.
Own an Icy Javelin
The aftermath of snow when the sun shines and the temperature drops is the melting of the ice. As seen in the picture, piles of snow start to melt and, in the process, some shapes may be formed.
The scene here is that of melting ice forming a javelin with a really sharp tip. There is a possibility the shape won’t form again in a long time. So, enjoy the view of this and cut it out as personal javelin (that’s a joke because it will melt in no time).
Cow in a Foreign Land
This may count as the king of everything unusual. A cow right in the middle of the ocean is as shocking as it can get. Is the cow scared of the water? Absolutely not! It appears as calm as someone having a personal time while reminiscing on lovely memories of the past.
Is it even concerned about how strong the tide of waves can grow? Regardless of the cow’s knowledge of the waves, how it got there is definitely a big question. This is because cows graze on grasses, and speaking of grasses, the beachside is not a place to dream of finding such greens.
